ENGAGEMENT APPS

The Engagement Applications form the digital layer of the Open Space Museum (OSM), connecting physical Case Study Elements with interactive browser-based experiences.

They allow visitors to explore artworks, cultural narratives, research themes, and artistic processes through image, sound, movement, interaction, and digital interpretation. The applications complement the physical installation and extend the experience beyond the structure itself.

Each app follows a common three-part structure: Home (introduction), Info (background and interpretation), and App (the interactive experience). The applications run directly in a web browser on mobile or desktop devices and require no installation.

Because the system is web-based, the Engagement Applications can also be adapted for new museum collections, artworks, research topics, and curatorial themes.

Conversational AI

The digital layer of the Open Space Museum is being extended through conversational artificial intelligence. These applications allow visitors to ask questions directly and receive responses through an AI-mediated interpretive interface connected to specific cultural content.

The first application is being developed for the ISIS Reflectorium. Visitors will be able to interact with an AI agent assuming the interpretive role of Isis and explore archaeological, historical, ritual, and cultural questions through conversation.

The aim is not to replace curatorial or scholarly interpretation, but to create a more immediate and exploratory form of engagement. The same approach can be adapted to other collections, themes, and partner institutions.

Adaptable Digital Layer

The Engagement Applications are not a fixed set of tools. Their interaction principles can be reused, modified, or newly developed in collaboration with museums, artists, researchers, and cultural institutions.

This allows the digital layer of the OSM to respond to different collections and locations while maintaining a consistent relationship between physical installation, interpretation, participation, and public engagement.

All Engagement Applications are web-based and require no installation. They can be experienced at the Open Space Museum or accessed remotely to revisit and extend the on-site experience.
